Chasing Northern Lights in Yukon

Whitehorse sits directly beneath the Aurora Oval, making it a prime spot for witnessing the Northern Lights. We spent three nights chasing the aurora, visiting wildlife preserves, soaking in hot springs at Eclipse Nordic, and exploring the charming town of Carcross. On our final night, the stars aligned and we witnessed an incredible aurora show at Annie Lake Road.

Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs

Soaking in natural hot springs fed by Takhini Hot Springs water. The eucalyptus steam room and outdoor pools were incredible.

Yukon Wildlife Preserve

Saw musk ox, elk, moose, caribou, bighorn sheep, and lynx in their natural habitat on a guided vehicle tour.

Carcross Day Trip

Beautiful views of Bennett Lake, First Nations art on the boardwalk, and stunning frozen landscapes along the way.

Yukon Black Spruce

Our cozy cabin accommodation with a sauna, aurora forecasts on a tablet, and the perfect base for aurora hunting.

Beringia Centre

Explored the ancient land bridge of Beringia with Ice Age giants like woolly mammoths and the first people in the Americas.

Aurora at Annie Lake Road

Finally witnessed the Northern Lights dancing across the sky on our third night - a truly magical and surreal experience.
